My name is Madeline Langlois, and I am a sophomore from Westford, Vermont. I’m thrilled to be pursuing my passion for horses and working toward earning a spot on a collegiate equestrian team. I’ve been riding for 14 years and training with my aunt, Erin Longworth, of Erin Longworth Performance Horses. This experience has given me the chance to work with horses of all ages and skill levels, which has helped shape me into the rider I am today. I take a lot of pride in building strong connections with every horse I ride. There’s something special about figuring out how to bring out the best in each horse and helping them succeed—it’s one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.

 

In my show career, I’ve trained and shown two of my own project horses and have had the privilege to catch-ride many others. I have competed with eight different horses at the Quarter Horse Congress and placed in the top 10 with all of them. It is opportunities like this that has made me a stronger, more adaptable rider. I believe these skills will help me thrive in a collegiate setting, where I’m excited to continue growing and pursuing my dreams. I have attended camps at Texas A&M and South Carolina, both of which have helped me grow both as a rider and a competitor.

In the classroom, I maintain a 3.6 GPA and achieved Honor Roll throughout my freshman year. I am particularly excited about pursuing a degree in Business to potentially one day work within the horse industry.
